Chartered Tax Advisers
We are a boutique firm of Chartered Tax Advisers based in Mayfair, London. Our founder, Mark Davies, is a Chartered Tax Adviser and a member of the International Tax Planning Association.
We offer bespoke UK, international and offshore tax services to clients in order to reduce their exposure to taxes legitimately. In particular we specialise in tax planning for those individuals who are resident in the UK but domiciled outside the UK, commonly known as ‘resident non-doms’ ('RNDs'), or ‘non doms’.
We provide creative tax solutions to individuals, their companies and families, often involving structures such as offshore trusts and offshore companies.
We also advise offshore trustees on the UK tax implications for UK resident beneficiaries and help them with their UK compliance obligations.
Non Dom Tax Planning
Many people born outside the UK, and their children, can claim a foreign domicile. They can claim this even if they have been resident in the UK for some time, providing they intend to leave the UK in the future. We can help our clients determine their domicile and advise them on the tax implications of their non UK domicile status.
RNDs can still enjoy significant tax advantages with careful offshore tax planning. We can help our clients to open offshore bank accounts and establish offshore trusts or companies.
RNDs pay tax in the UK on UK sources and on foreign sources but only to the extent that the foreign sources are 'remitted' to (i.e. brought in or enjoyed in) the UK. This is commonly known as the 'remittance basis'. However, the Finance Act 2008 brought about significant changes to the taxation of non-doms, including the introduction of the annual Remittance Basis Charge ('RBC') of £30,000 per annum. The legislation also tightened the definition of what constitutes a remittance. This has meant that many commonly used tax planning techniques are no longer appropriate.
We can help you navigate through these increasingly complex tax rules. Our goal is to allow you to focus on your business and family interests, knowing that your tax affairs are being carefully managed. |
